Dan Estabillo Nino as the newly-designated  auditor of Chamber of Commerce Tri-County — wears several hats.

After retiring from the California State Board of Equalization (now California Department of Taxes and Fees Administration)  as sales tax collector, Mr. Nino did not slow down. He became an entrepreneur as tax consultant/tax practitioner preparing income tax returns, sales tax returns and non-profit organizations and notary public. He founded the Summit Business Counselors.

Although, he spent long years as State employee, Mr. Nino was actually a dyed in the wool journalist. While employed with the State, he pursued writing as a matter of calling. He was correspondent and columnist of Philippine News based in San Francisco, California.

After graduation, Mr. Nino became a sports writer for Sports Weekly Magazine back in the Philippines while a full time employee with Landoil Resources Corporation as Assistant for Public Relations. Thereafter, he moved to  Philippine Cellophane Film Corporation as Community Relations Officer and editor of its corporate newsletter, then to Allenco Steel Corporation as Administrative and Personnel Manager.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of Medical Technology from Centro Escolar University but pursued a different career path.

After college, he took post graduate studies at Ateneo de Manila University

in English Literature, Political Science, Communication Arts and Business Policy.

He also took continuing education at Cerritos College and took courses in Business Law, Accounting, Business English and Communication Arts.

As principal of Summit Business Counselors (A One Stop-Shop) based in Cerritos, California, he is also engaged in business consultancy, audit defense, escrow sales tax clearance, setting up businesses, and represent clients with Federal, State, County and local governments.

Currently, Mr. Nino is a columnist of Capitol Post based in Lingayen, Pangasinan, Philippines; columnist of Philippine Post based in Cerritos and columnist and correspondent of Gateway Guardian also based in Cerritos, California. As a freelance writer, he occasionally writes for Philippine News, Philippine Tribune,  and Asian Journal. He also wrote for several publications in both the U.S. and Philippines like Bulletin Today,  Balikbayan Magazine, among others.

Mr. Nino is also a community leader and community activist dealing with advocacies  he had championed. He was former president of Eclectic Dialectics Toastmasters Club #3828 based in Cerritos;  Past President, Alpha Phi Omega of Greater Los Angeles; Past President, Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA; Past President, Filipino-American Press Club of Los Angeles; Founding President, Association of Mangatarem Overseas Residents (AMOR) of Southern California

Past President, Granada Park Homeowners Association, Cerritos, California; Treasurer, Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce in Southeast Corridor; Government Liaison, Global Filipino Foundation, Inc.; Board Member of United Homeowners Alliance based in Cerritos,  and member, Cursillo in Christianity.
